In celebration of the royal wedding between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on the 19th May, the Royal Mail have issued four beautiful celebratory stamps.
The special set of stamps show two of Harry and the American star’s romantic, intimate engagement portraits that were taken by New York-based photographer Alexi Lubomirski, at Frogmore House in Windsor in December.
Lubomirski, who has described the couple as being “so deliciously in love”, has also been chosen by Harry and Ms Markle as their official wedding photographer.
The stamps will be available from 7,000 Post Offices from the morning of the wedding, which takes place this Saturday 19th May at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, though are available to pre-order from today.
The 1st class stamp shows the couple sitting together holding hands on the steps of Frogmore House, where they will have their evening reception, whilst the £1.55 stamp is a more informal black-and-white image. Harry and Ms Markle personally approved the set, as did the prince’s grandmother, the Queen, who had the final say.
The Royal Mail is expecting the set to sell well, just like the stamps released for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding, alongside commemorative products such as a First Day Cover, presentation pack with illustrated brochure plus stamps, and a coin cover featuring the new stamps and the Royal Mint’s royal wedding coin.
All of which make great keepsakes for the special day, whilst your cheaper franked mail can continue delivering your post every day!
