Black Friday, the 28th November 2014, started in the USA as a name given to the day after Thanksgiving because of the chaos that was created when shoppers flocked to the high street to bag themselves bargains in the sales.
In 2010, Amazon started offering Black Friday discounts to the UK, and as the years have passed and the online shopping revolution has grown, more and more retailers have joined the Black Friday craze by offering discounts and promotions to shoppers.
This year, Black Friday was bigger than ever in the UK, encouraging £12.1 billion worth of sales during the month of November, with many retailers reporting Black Friday as their biggest ever day for online sales.
