Harry Potter fans have some magical new merchandise to get their hands on, as the Royal Mail releases a special set of stamps to celebrate the success of the eight films.
The collection comprises a set of 15 stamps which feature some of the most memorable characters and iconic transport depicted in the movies, based on the hugely popular books by J.K Rowling.
The collectable pieces feature a number of character portraits, including Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, Ron Weasley and Neville Longbottom, as well as a variety of magical modes of transport like the Hogwarts Express, the Knight Bus and the flying Ford Anglia.
Five Hogwarts professors are also up for grabs in a special miniature sheet, with Severus Snape and Remus Lupin among those featured and look out for hidden details which are only visible under ultraviolet light, encouraging collectors to indulge in a bit of their own wizardry to uncover the secret features. Additionally, the style of the ‘1’ depicting the value on each of the stamps mirrors Harry Potter’s famous lightening shaped scar.
Philip Parker, from Royal Mail, said: “The Harry Potter movies continue to thrill and delight audiences of all ages. “The goal with our stamps is to capture the excitement of the Wizarding World and the heroism of the students of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.”
For the serious collectors, there are also some limited-edition items available to buy, including the Silver Proof Hogwarts Medal Cover struck by The Royal Mint, featuring the Harry Potter logo on one side, and the crest of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry on the reverse.
You can order the stamps directly from the Royal Mail and make sure your earthly post flies through the air at the cheapest price by using the magical savings available on your franking machine.
