2014 proved to be a huge year for start up businesses, with the number of new company registrations hitting a record high, indicating the UK is more entrepreneurial than ever before.
581,173 businesses were registered with Company House in 2014 – an increase of 54,726 on 2013, it appears the appetite for starting a business is growing amongst the population. Greater London had the most new business registrations with 184,671, but the entrepreneurial spirit spreads across the country, including 13,054 registrations in Manchester and 18,337 in Birmingham.
Although company registrations may not always result in the launch of a running business, the figures certainly show that there is a definite thirst for business across the UK.
